Donate shares and property

The Connection at St Martin's is now able to accept donations of shares. This is an excellent way to support our work as all donations of shares to charities are eligible for income tax relief and are exempt from capital gains tax, meaning that you do not pay any tax on your donation.

You can get more information by visiting HM Revenue & Customs or contact info@connection-at-stmartins.org.uk 020 7766 5555.

How to donate your shares
If you would like to donate shares to The Connection at St Martin’s:

  • Obtain a stock transfer form from the registrar who acts for the company in which you have shares. The name of the registrar will usually be shown at the bottom of your share certificate.
  • On the stock transfer form, in the box entitled ‘Full name and postal address of the person to whom the security is transferred’, please write:
    The Connection at St Martin’s
    12 Adelaide Street
    London
    WC2N 4HW
  • Complete, sign and date the form as appropriate and send it to us at the above address.
  • It is important that you keep copies of transfer forms for your records and when you do your tax returns. We advise that you talk to a financial adviser before making any decisions.
