Developing the skills and confidence to make a wider contribution
Our Step Up volunteering programme gives clients of The Connection the opportunity to undertake volunteering placements across our different departments – from helping at fundraising events or assisting our finance team to introducing new clients to the Day Centre or helping with our gardening projects. The placements offer people the chance to get involved, develop skills, gain confidence and experience and move on in a safe and supportive environment.
Experts by experience
At The Connection, we are committed to working with clients as ‘experts by experience’ to not only deliver services, but to help us evaluate and improve these services to make sure they are as effective as they can be. For this reason many of the placements are centred around delivering and improving what we do.
We believe that by enabling staff, clients and volunteers to all work alongside each other we will be better placed to empower our clients in working towards an independent life.
