Event: Our 28th Pilgrimage to Canterbury

Pilgrims setting off from the steps of St Martin-in-the-Fields

The Pilgrimage to Canterbury is an annual event held over the second May bank holiday weekend (25th – 28th May 2018). This is our 28th Pilgrimage. Last year it raised over £49K for the work of The Connection.

100 people will walk the 74-mile route from Trafalgar Square to Canterbury, leaving on Friday morning from St Martin-in-the-Fields and arriving at Canterbury on Monday afternoon. Walking in Chaucer’s footsteps you’ll get to meet a wonderful and diverse group of The Connection’s supporters, some homeless, most not, but all enjoying the lively company, the spectacular countryside and the delicious food we have along the way!

Friday 25th May
Trafalgar Square to Swanley (19 miles)

Saturday 26th May
Swanley to Aylesford (19.5 miles)

Sunday 27th May
Aylesford to Charing (18 miles)

Monday 28th May
Charing to Canterbury (17.5 miles)

Or a range of last day walks of different lengths if you are a Day Walker:
Boughton Aluph to Canterbury (11.5 miles)
Chartham to Canterbury (3.5 miles)

The Pilgrimage is now full. You can still support the Pilgrimage in the following ways:

• Register and walk as a day walker
• Join the support team to help the administration and logistics in the weekend
• Sponsor our clients to take part in the Pilgrimage via the online sponsorship website
