On average, people experiencing homelessness die at just 44 years old.
In 2023, 1,474 people died homeless in the UK – that’s 4 people every day dying for connection. This should not be acceptable in one of the world’s richest countries.
We’re working with acclaimed fibre artist Kirk Dunn to create a one-of-a-kind blanket made up of 1,474 individually knitted squares – each one dedicated to someone who died homeless over the year.
From 15th – 19th September we will be assembling the blanket live in Charing Cross station to serve as a bold visual tribute to those who should still be with us — and a call to action for a fairer, safer future for everyone.
