Now a successful filmmaker, Lorna Tucker (Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist; Amà) was once someone we supported as a teenage runaway sleeping rough on the streets of London.
For this frank, forceful and inspiring documentary, Someone’s Daughter, Someone’s Son, she returns to her former haunts and speaks to current and former people experiencing homeless about why, 25 years later, record numbers of people are still reduced to living on Britain’s streets.

All money raised on the evening will go to The Connection at St Martin in the Fields
The Connection have been supporting people sleeping rough to move away from the streets for over 100 years. Each year we work with around 1,500 people rough sleeping in Central London. Our aim is to build relationships with the people we work with, to ensure the support we offer is unique to them and at a pace that will help them achieve their recovery from rough sleeping.
Everyone needs to find their own way home, but we go with them every step of the journey. It often starts with a chat, the offer of a coffee and perhaps a hot meal or shower. Simple things that aren’t easy when you are living on the streets. We work with people to recover from the streets so that they can move on to a meaningful, fulfilling and settled life, long into the future.
